Furisode kimono

This is very simple kimono. If you feel difficulty, omit the lining.

Cut

  1. Draw the patterns on cloth.
  2. Cut the parts with 1/4" margin.
  3. The collar is about 2" × 18" (include allowance).
  4. Sleeves and bottom are lined with thin cloth.
The length of the lining of bottom is about 14".
When you omit linings, the margin must be wider. Refere to Juban.

Bodice
  1. Sew up the middle of the back (a-b).
  2. Sew up the front and the back at the sides (e-f).
  3. Sew the lining to the bodice (n-f-b-f-n).
Put a strip of cotton batting on the seam allowance of the hem.
Then the hem swelled. This is called fuki which is a sort of decoration. You can omit it.
